Repligator Tutorial 3: All Mixed Up!

(You may like to print this tutorial (see under the File menu of this window), it is about 2 A4 pages long)

Step 0) In the previous tutorial you created several images. (If you have closed Repligator between this tutorial and the previous one then repeat the previous tutorial, it should take you a minute at the most!)

Step 1) Now you have several transformed images. Go to one which you like using the keyboard cursor keys or the Sequence Buttons buttons.

Step 2) Push M on the keyboard or click on the Mix Icon icon. You will get the mixing options dialog:

Mixing Options Dialog

With this dialog you can specify how you want to mix the original image with the transformed image, if at all.

Step 3) Choose the "Right-Left" option from the drop list and click on "Apply Now". Your image will now have the transformed part on the right and fading to the original image on the left. Here is an example:

You can do this with any effect and any image. Another example is the same image and the same effect, but with Inner-Out mix applied:

In most cases you will have to twiddle with the sliders to get exactly the effect you want.

Step 4) Experiment with the mix options on different images in the sequence. Remember that you can switch mixing off by choosing "none" in the mix settings dialog.

Step 5) Finally note that when you create a new image it is always added at the end of the sequence.
